19 Nov 2009, Insignia announces webinar to reveal results of swine flu communication research
The results of an Insignia-commissioned academic study into swine flu communication will be revealed via a webinar to take place at 1pm on 8 December, 2009. The results have relevance for all those involved in risk communication.
The research conducted by Wolverhampton University investigates the success with which a range of spokespeople – including Gordon Brown, Andy Burnham, Liam Donaldson, senior healthcare practitioners, scientists, the World Health Organisation and others – have communicated about swine flu via the media. It identifies the key elements which enable speakers to communicate effectively with the public about a health risk, so that these learnings can be applied to future health scares, or indeed risk communication of any kind.
The report and webinar will contain insights, advice and guidance for anyone who has to communicate about risk, especially in the context of health. The report is available for download from Insignia’s website now.
